Senate on Wednesday backed out of its decision to amend sequence of elections in Nigeria. The bill was sponsored by Senator Suleiman Nazif .

The bill tilted: “An act to amend the provisions of the Electoral Act No. 6, 2010 to make provisions for the sequence of elections in Nigeria”.

In the Senator Nazif presentation on the amendment,  he proposed the conduct of Governors and State House of Assembly in the first week and follow by the National Assembly elections while the Presidential election to be conducted last.

Many Senators of All Progressive Congress (APC) who spoke kicked against the amendment saying it is illegal and unconstitutional .
