2019: Aloysius Osuji Sets Out Agenda To Drive Dev’t In Imo State
Imo State governorship aspirant under MAJA Party, Barrister Aloysius Osuji has set out agenda to drive development home in Imo State when he assumes office as the governor.
In a memo made available to ElombahNews, Barrister Osuji identified lack of inclusiveness of grassroots people in governance as the bane of development I n his state.
He, therefore, mapped out a series of coordinated action plan to ensure that developmental dividends trickle down to the critical masses.
Osuji wrote: In line with my philosophy, my administration shall continue to pursue larger inclusion of people of Imo State in the advancement of democracy.
To increase participation, I will appeal to such existing institutions of the society for closeness with government.
ADMINISTRATION:
Besides running the government clearly on the basis of the constitution of the Federal Republic, my administration will pursue diffusion through:
DEVELOPMENT CENTRES:
This may look like a fourth tier of administration, but in reality, it is an institution for getting government closer to the people and archiving greater participation.
TOWN UNIONS:
Having operated within every Igbo community, at home and abroad, Town Unions have become the bedrock of communal development efforts.
My administration will formalize the operations, institutionalize TOWN MANAGEMENT patterns, to partner with government and CCDC.
CCDC:
Community Coordinating Development Council [CCDC] will be one programme my administration plan to act as the key link in development between the State and the Local Government/Communities.
This will be an overhaul of the past administrations and a lifting of roles of individual communities in programmes peculiar to their needs.
These are achievable and we must make it work. Join me for Imo to be Reformed!
The Learned Barrister regretted that past administration in the state had not considered the masses in their calculation but seems to have easily forgotten those who toiled to put them into power.
He promised to change the narratives as soon as he assumes the mantle of leadership.
